All services provided by Canine Assisted Therapy to facilities are free of charge. Service is provided totally by volunteers and their canine companions.

We take great care in placing our volunteers. All of our volunteers have been screened and have submitted to a background check. It is important to us that you are comfortable and happy with the volunteer teams that we provide. If at any time you feel that we are not meeting your needs, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We are here to make this a wonderful and beneficial experience for everyone.

We provide you with detailed information about all C.A.T. Dog Teams that will be visiting your facility. This includes a recent photo of the team and information on the dog.

Canine Assisted Therapy takes pride in the fact that all of its dogs are required to have the Canine Good Citizen Certification in addition to Canine Assisted Therapy Certification. In addition to the testing, we require our C.A.T. Dog teams go through a 30-day probation period and two evaluations as part of their certification. Therapy Teams that work with children and/or special needs individuals are required to pass Advanced C.A.T. Dog Testing. Our standards are the highest in the industry enabling us to provide the “best of the best” when it comes to Therapy Dogs.
$1,000,000 in liability insurance coverage for current Canine Assisted Therapy Volunteer Teams when they are volunteering in your facility. A Certificate of Insurance naming your facility will be included in the information packet that we provide to you.

C.A.T. volunteers are encouraged to participate in Continuing Education Programs. These programs are designed to help them to better understand the people that they are serving as a volunteer. These programs include quarterly (CEU Credit) seminars, dog training classes, dog health and care classes and many other exciting and educational programs.

C.A.T. has planned group activities on a regular basis. These are activities such as participation in dog walks throughout the community; monthly dog park get-togethers for C.A.T. dogs and their owners; the Annual Doggy Black Tie Volunteer Recognition / Fundraiser; and other various "fun" fundraising activities. If your facility has any activities that you would like for C.A.T. Dogs to be a part of, just let us know. We will do our best to provide volunteer teams for your event. |
